Seeing the patterns beneath the surface
My approach
My work is broadly transpersonal and holistic, meaning that it recognises the connection between mind and body, and also our universal connection to all that is. Personal growth rarely happens in isolation within a single area. Emotional experience, physical wellbeing, beliefs, relationships, social structure and our deeper sense of meaning are closely intertwined.
I do not see therapy as the application of a single technique. Like any tool, a therapeutic method must be understood in terms of what it does, why it is used, and when something different may be more appropriate. My focus is always on the outcome rather than the method itself.
Every person brings a unique history, personality and set of experiences. My approach is therefore flexible and intuitive, drawing on different perspectives where they are helpful while remaining grounded in thoughtful conversation and genuine human connection.
For more understanding of my approach, here is a video interview where I explain it.
Experience
I have been a student of psychology and personal development for nearly forty years.
While I hold a number of qualifications and certifications, my real expertise comes from experience — both in my own life and through working with thousands of clients over more than twenty years of professional practice.
Over the years I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and across a wide age range, from teenagers to people in their nineties. Some come to therapy for the first time, while others have spent years exploring personal development or working in healing professions themselves.
Personal growth does not stop at any particular stage of life. It simply continues to unfold in new ways.
Life experience
Before focusing entirely on therapeutic work, my career included areas such as corporate training, advertising, team building and events.
Alongside this professional path, I home educated three children — an experience that taught me a great deal about human development and individuality.
Alongside my work, creativity plays an important role in my life.
Life in France
My husband and I now live in rural France, having chosen to begin a new chapter of life here.
Many of my clients are English-speaking people living abroad who are navigating significant life transitions. Some are adjusting to a very different way of life and may feel isolated or uncertain about their sense of purpose.
Others have lived overseas for many years and are facing difficult questions about whether to remain abroad or return “home” to be closer to family.
Retirement and later life can also bring deeper questions alongside challenges such as bereavement, unresolved childhood experiences, anxiety or depression.
Like many couples here, we are also renovating an old house.
My role
The most important element in any therapeutic work is trust.
People need to feel that they are speaking with someone who will listen carefully, respect their experience and meet them where they are.
My aim is to provide a thoughtful and supportive space where people can explore what is really happening in their lives and discover the clarity needed to move forward.
Professional training
My training and professional development have included work in areas such as:
• Psychotherapy and counselling
• Hypnotherapy
• Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
• Nutritional therapy (particularly in relation to mood disorders)
• Foundation kinesiology
• Regression therapy
• Anxiety and OCD specialisation
• Family mediation
