Mindfulness Course

An integrated Mindfulness Course with a lot more than the standard courses. In my usual style, I like to give you more in less time with real practical tools.

Mindfulness is more than just ‘being present’ – it is about no longer allowing your mind to make you miserable! Suffering is optional – when you take your thoughts captive, you can live through any circumstance without becoming a victim (unless you choose to, of course!).

8 Week Mindfulness Course

in Bagshot, Surrey

Two hour sessions, once per week for 8 weeks

Why you should choose to actively learn Mindfulness

Watch your thoughts – you will find that they are usually either in the past or the future.  Do you forget where you put your keys, or what you were meant to be doing? Most of us live in the constant babble inside our heads, never noticing that we have the power to make our lives different.

If we are honest, we will admit that our minds are in control of us, we are not in control of our minds. It is a constant battle – but it doesn’t have to be!

When you are worrying, ruminating, thinking the same old tired thoughts, your mind is just keeping you stuck on a rollercoaster, and you aren’t truly living life.

What this usually means is that we do not feel the way we would like to feel about life. We are always living for ‘some time in the future’ when we will be happy. But happiness can only ever be felt in the NOW.

You may have heard that Mindfulness has been proved to alleviate stress, depression and anxiety

(because it helps you to not identify with your thoughts and feelings), but we want to take it much further than that!

We’d like to see you choosing your thoughts and feelings, and actively manifesting joy in your life!

Mindfulness helps you to be more in control of your life

Our brain changes itself based on our experiences, and therefore, by changing our experiences we can actively reshape our brains. One way to consciously change our experience is to learn how to apply mindfulness. UCLA psychiatrist Daniel Siegel states that Mindfulness helps us to be more flexible in our responses. We are, therefore, able to be more flexible in our decision-making, and how we choose our experiences. In short, it puts you back in the driver’s seat of your life!

Mindfulness enhances the quality of your life

A recent study  showed just 8 weeks of mindfulness training increased the brain’s capacity for learning, memory, self-awareness, compassion and introspection. Participants reported significant reduction in stress. Mindfulness has also been proved a powerful aid in treating Depression, Anxiety, Phobias and Emotional Distress.

You will feel SO much better about yourself

The mind is a wonderful slave, but a terrible master! In order to be the master of our lives and destinies, we must first become master of our own minds!
